More changes? Seriously? Yeeeeaah

After a short hike up a hill yesterday, I am feeling like my winter here would be much better spent with more time in the mountains. There is one concrete way to make that happen. Quit my job and ski bum full time out of the van.

Just kidding. There’s a second option. Become a professional snowboarder. Yeah, that one I’m being serious about, but not in the traditional sense. I have just applied to a different position that would award me the title of Mountain Service Guide. As such, I would be placed on the mountain and given a large area of the resort to patrol and look for guests in need of assistance, cheering up, or just a friendly conversation. Oh, and I would be on a snowboard almost the whole time to get from place to place. So basically paid to snowboard, so basically a pro snowboarder. If that sounds like a bit of a stretch for a job title, good. One of my nicknames is Stretch.

Sitting atop a mountain and surveying the surrounding valley is an experience I will never grow tired of. It’s too good. Getting paid to do that every day, and share my passion for that feeling with others would be epic. Hopefully it works out in the end. If not, I am also applying for other on mountain mayhem.

Regardless of what happens with the job, we need snow here first. We’re almost half way through November and we have exactly 0.0 snow. Yeah, that global warming thing? Totally just a hair brain theory. Damn hippies and their tree hugging. Take a bath you dirty hippies! That sounds great actually, I should take a bath. But in all seriousness, if you end up reading this, you should do some form of a snow dance wherever you are. If you succeed and snow falls in the area, please inform me, and I will personally pay for your transportation to do your dance in Utah.
